My fiancee and I were in need of a Celebrant on short notice due to her father’s critical decline in health. Neither of us had enough time away from work schedules to obtain marriage licenses in Australia or her Father’s country, and New Zealand was our best bet. However the registry office was fully booked for two months in advance, and half a dozen inquiries via email from the New Zealand association’s list of celebrants only yielded two replies, one stating they were no longer a celebrant and the other answered that they were unavailable.
On further searching, we found Diane, who informed us she could perform a ceremony on Saturday, in two days hence. Furthermore, she was able to provide the required two witnesses and gave us suggestions of venues where the wedding could be held. Both were at the top of my list gleaned from personal web searches and provided options should the weather turn ugly.
Words cannot express how thrilled we were with Diane’s services. She was kind, very interested in our personal story, and extremely patient as I set up live streaming of the occasion via cell phone to my elderly mother on the other side of the world. Furthermore, her daughter who acted as one of the witnesses used my camera gear to record the occasion with superlative results. We were touched and could not have asked for a better Celebrant than Diane.
